Training Policy

It is our belief that employees work more efficiently and work better together when they have been trained in the same work practices and procedures. ISS encourages high standards of performance in all aspects of learning and development

ISS's aims are to:
  • Foster the development of professional competence and high standards of performance through training and development.

  • Promote understanding of training and development and its contribution to the performance of individuals within the organisation.

ISS employs both On-the-job training and Off-job training practices On-job training takes place in a normal working situation, using the actual tools equipment, documents or materials that trainees will use when fully trained.

Off-the-job training takes place away from normal work situations Off-the-job training has the advantage that it allows people to get away from work and concentrate more thoroughly on the training itself. This type of training has proven more effective in inculcating concepts and ideas.

ISS ensure employees are either sufficiently experienced to do their work safely or are supervised by an experienced person. In addition, the employee must be adequately trained in the safe use of all plant, objects, substances and protective clothing and equipment that the employee may be required to use or handle.

Meetings are held regularly with all employees to discuss best work practice and further develop procedures.
